Course Overview –
Manual Handling Level 2 Award
We are all exposed at times to manual handling activities such as lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling, often combined with movements like twisting, climbing, or pivoting. Incorrect manual handling remains one of the leading causes of workplace injury, resulting in significant lost working days each year.
The Manual Handling Level 2 (Principles and Practice) course provides an ideal approach to safer and more effective manual handling. It supports Health and Safety Executive (HSE) guidance by helping learners understand risk, apply correct techniques, and adopt good practice that can be used both in the workplace and everyday situations.
Course Syllabus
A range of subjects are covered that will equip delegates to:

Understand the reasons for safe manual handling
Understand how manual handling risk assessments contribute to
improving health and safety
Understand the principles, types of equipment, and testing
requirements associated with manual handling safety
Apply safe manual handling principles in the workplace

Certification

Learners are assessed practically throughout the course, culminating in a written test. On successful completion, a Manual Handling Level 2 certificate is issued. This qualification does not expire, however refresher training and keeping up to date with changes to policies and procedures is strongly recommended.
